Eligibilty

Candidates who have passed the three year B.Sc. degree examination of Mangalore University or any other University considered as equivalent thereto with Statistics and Mathematics provided they have studied at least one of them as major/optional/special subjects and the other as optional/major/special/minor/

subsidiary subjects and have secured a minimum of 45%(40% for SC/ST/Category-I candidates) marks separately in Statistics and Mathematics are eligible for the programme.

5. Practical (C Programming & EXCEL)

Semester – II

1. Distribution Theory
2. Theory of point Estimation
3. Stochastic Processes
4. Design and Analysis of Experiments
5. Practical (Based on ST451, ST452 & ST453)
6. Practical (Based on ST454) – (Using MATLAB)

Semester – III

1. Testing of Hypothesis
2. Operations Research
3. Multivariate Analysis
4. Econometrics
5. Practical (Based on ST501 & ST502)
6. Practical (Based on ST503 & ST 504) – (Using MATLAB & SPSS)

Semester – IV

1. Stochastic Finance  (Special paper introduced under the UGC Innovative Scheme)
2. Any Three of the following Elective Papers.
   • Data Mining Techniques

   • Time Series Analysis
   • Stochastic Models
   • Nonparametric Regression
   • Stochastic Models in Biology
   • Bayesian Inference
