ICFAI University, Meghalaya (IMU) is a Private University specialising in education of business administration, computer applications and Hospitality and Tourism Management. Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University, Meghalaya was established under the provisions of the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University Act, 2005 (Meghalaya Act No. 12 of 2005) vide Notification No. EDN. 261/2004/124 dated 22.02.2006 of the Government of Meghalaya. The University is sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India, a non - profit Educational Society established in 1984 under the Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Public Societies Registration Act, 1350F (Act of 1350F). ICFAI has set-up 11 Universities across India; some of these are located at Hyderabad, Tripura, Dehradun, Sikkim, Meghalaya etc. The Headquarter of the University is at Tura, West Garo Hills District, Meghalaya and all the administrative functions are operated from here. The University is empowered by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for the award of degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act 1956. IMU has been especially established to impart training in finance and management to students, working executives and professionals in India. Facilities at ICFAI University, Meghalaya
Library - The University has a well stocked Library of courseware, books & references. The Library is also subscribes to journals and magazines.
Computer Facilities – The computer laboratory is equipped with a number of PCs with latest Intel-based computing facility. It also has internet facility. The computers are connected over Local Area Network (LAN) in hybrid fashion with enough internet bandwidth for general use, especially for online training, research, video conferencing, etc.
Recreational Facilities – Various Indoor recreational facilities like chess, caroms, table tennis, etc. are available for the students.
Placement Cell - The Cell looks after the placement and the summer internship programme of the students.
Internship Program and Projects - The Internship Program is undertaken either during summer or in the final semester for the UG Programs and after Semester-II for the MBA Program and is faculty supervised. The Internship Program equips the students with practical application skills relevant to various situations. It is an attempt to bridge the gap between the professional world and the academic institutions. It is a simulation of the real work environment and enables students to experience the rigors of a professional organization.
Summer Projects - For BCA, BHTM, B. Econ and MCA Programs summer projects are undertaken after the second and fourth semester. For MBA and MTA, summer projects are undertaken after the second semester. These projects are meant to help students connect knowledge with applications. It increases their practical exposure.
