Bahra University is established as State Private University by Act No. 2 of 2011 of State Legislature of Himachal Pradesh. It has been notified by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956 and is empowered by the UGC to award degrees vide letter F.No. 8-34/2011(CPP-I/PU) dated 8th July 2011. It is a world class, multi-disciplinary University, located amidst the sylvan surroundings of Shimla Hills. The University integrates teaching, learning, research and extension education into a holistic framework and it is set up on over 40 acres. The Rayat Bahra Group’s vision is India’s largest educational groups which does educational, training and skill development in the country. The group strives to achieve its objectives in the context of individual aspirations and social needs of the community.

Bahra University Facilities

Hostel Facilities - The University has well designed accommodation and modern amenities are available on the university campus. There are separate facilities available for boys and girls.

Library Facilities - The University Library has stock of books, periodicals, digital resources, journals and reference material. It is connected with other resource centers through various networks like DELNET.

Computer Centre Facilities - The University provides interconnected secure IT network through wired and wireless infrastructure.

Lab Facilities - The Labs of various Schools are designed to facilitate practical learning, and experimenting with most modern tools and equipment.

Sports’ Facilities - The University encourages all students to participate in one or the other sport. It organizes many sports competitions on regular basis for achievement and excellence.

Transport Facilities - Bahra University has a fleet of ultra-modern buses. They move in the areas of Shimla, Solan and nearby areas. The bus service is available to staff and students of Bahra university as well.
