M.Phil. Mathematics or Master of Philosophy in Mathematics is a postgraduate Mathematics course. During the course the main emphasis is given on Mathematics which is the study of quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematicians seek out patterns and formulate new conjectures and resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proofs. The duration of M.Phil. (Mathematics) is mostly of two academic years but it may vary as per the rules and regulations of different institutions. The course is an important and valuable one which provides widespread job opportunities.
M.Phil. Mathematics Eligibility
 For pursuing M.Phil. Course one needs to have a Master's degree in science, arts or engineering, etc.
 Candidates need to acquire 55% marks in the subject chosen for M.Phil. course or an allied subject at the postgraduate level to be considered eligible for the course.
 A written test may be conducted to assess the candidate’s knowledge. Those who qualify in the written test will be required to appear in an interview.
 The admission procedure and mode of selection for admission to Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) through distance learning however, may vary from one Institute to another.
