MTech Remote Sensing or Master of Technology Remote Sensing is a Post-Graduate Electronics program. Remote sensing is integral to a wide range of environmental and commercial applications from understanding global climate change, deforestation, and the global carbon cycle, fire mapping, oil exploration, ice sheet dynamics, earthquakes, atmospheric monitoring, and oceanography, to resource management, food security, and humanitarian applications includes understanding the instrumentation, software, radioactive transfer, hydroacoustics, and principles of systems designed to acquire, process, and interpret information about Earth for application to vital contemporary problems in agriculture, coastal zone management, ecology, engineering, environmental science, and resource management, forestry, land use, meteorology, natural hazards, oceanography, urban planning, and other issues.

This program's technologies are mostly based on physical, mathematical, and statistical sciences. Their applications, however, are also dependent on biological, geographic, environmental, and social sciences. The remote Sensing program was designed with a careful balance of fundamental principles, data analysis, and application areas, but with enough electives and project materials to cater to students from a wide range of disciplinary backgrounds and to provide the greatest opportunity for multi-disciplinary knowledge exchange.

MTech Remote Sensing Eligibility

  • The aspiring candidates must have qualified for their BSc / BE / BTech degrees in relevant subjects from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's.

MTech Remote Sensing Course Suitability

  • The candidate should be able to transform data from older sources (digitization) or from many sources to a common format or schema.
  • It is incredibly beneficial to be able to deal with GPS data and do data modifications as needed.
  • Candidates must be competent to do GIS analysis because it is frequently utilized to answer common difficulties. It is advantageous to be able to expand and modify typical analyses to satisfy requirements.
  • They should have enough expertise to design process models that can be used to build a workflow. In this context, model development in the Arc GIS sense is also quite beneficial.

How is the MTech Remote Sensing Course Beneficial?

  • Individuals interested in enhancing research talents while learning practical skills for work in remote sensing-related roles in public and private sector organizations can benefit from the Master of Technology program in Remote Sensing.
  • The Master of Technology program is also appropriate for students who want to do higher-level study as a prerequisite for a Ph.D. in remote sensing.
  • Graduates of the Master's program can apply techniques and skills in a variety of fields, including agriculture, archaeology, ecology, forestry, geography, geology, meteorology, and oceanography, as well as more specialized fields like urban and land planning, hydrologic resources, environmental analysis and management, and transportation review and planning.
  • They are also useful in private firms, particularly in logistics and environmental consultancy, as well as geophysical exploration (such as mining or the oil industry).
