Note: NIT Entrance Exam ie (AIEEE) has been replaced by JEE (Mains) Exam from 2014 onwards.

NIT Entrance Exam 2014 - National institute of Technology are among the most sought after Institutes in India especially among the students aspiring for engineering courses. However there is not any specific National Institute of Technology Entrance Exam as admission in NIT's in India is based on the scores in the AIEEE Exam.

NIT Entrance Exam -AIEEE- Eligibility

Age: For appearing in AIEEE Entrance Exam, candidates should be of 17 years age.

Educational Qualification:

A pass in 12th standard or second year Pre-University or equivalent examination from CBSE or any State Board or equivalent, with a minimum of 60% marks separately in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. OR

A Pass in Diploma examination (minimum 3 years duration after passing 10th standard), in Engineering, conducted by any State Board of Technical Education, scoring a minimum of 60% marks.

Important: Those who appear for the above examinations in April / May and expect to secure minimum marks as above, can also apply.

NIT Entrance Exam -AIEEE-  Syllabus

NIT Entrance Exam consists of question from Maths, Physics and Chemistry of +2 level.

NIT Entrance Exam -AIEEE-  pattern

AIEEE paper consists of two papers:

Paper 1 of three hours duration consisting of questions from:-

Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

Objective type questions with equal weight age to Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics

Paper 2 of three hours duration consisting of questions from:

Mathematics – Part I

Aptitude Test – Part II &

Drawing Test – Part III

AIEEE Exam Date

This exam is normally held in April or May of every year.

AIEEE Exam Fee

The application forms costs Rs 450 for the general class of students and Rs.225 only for OBC and ST/SC. If one needs to apply for the test for both B.Tech and B.Arch, he or she needs to pay an additional sum of Rs.300 (150 for OBC, ST, and SC).
