Rajasthan Technical University begins admission process.

With the announcement of the RPET (Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test) results, the race for admissions into top engineering colleges affiliated to the Rajasthan Technical University has begun.

The process will commence from June 10 and the session will begin from August 1.  RTU offers courses in 26 branches with electronics and communication (EC) continues to be the most sought-after course among aspiring engineers with a maximum of 14,500 seats. Computer science, another favourite, is lagging behind with 11,453 seats.

In over 150 engineering colleges under the RTU, 61,000 seats are up for grabs. Of these colleges, 27 are evening colleges that can accommodate 12% of the total student strength at the varsity.

A section of students are also eyeing diploma certificate courses in different branches of engineering for an early placement.

These diploma programmes have become popular among students as they help youngsters start early in their career, get attractive pay packages besides being more industry oriented.
