Thapar University, Patiala Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D in Engineering Programs

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into 2nd Semester for following programme offered in respective departments for the commencing session 2014-15.

• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Chemical Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Civil Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Computer Science & Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility Conditions

• A candidate seeking admission to the degree of Doctor of Philosophy must have obtained M.E./M.Tech/M.Phil/MCA/M.Sc/M.A/MBA/CA or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded or NET (UGC/CSIR) qualified.
  
  
• Candidates with B.E/B.Tech degree or equivalent with excellent academic record (minimum CGPA of 9.00 on 10 point scale or 80% marks in aggregate) may be considered for admission.

Selection Procedure

• Candidates shall be admitted on the basis of merit of Entrance Test and Interview to be conducted by the University. The candidates who secure minimum of 20% marks in the written exam shall only be called for Interview.

• Last date for receipt of completed application forms: 2^nd Dec, 2013 (Monday)
• Date of online entrance test to be conducted by TU: 26^th Dec- 27^th Dec, 2013.
