Thapar University (TU), Patiala Invites Applications for Admission into Ph.D Programs 2016

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission into 2nd semester (2015-16 session) Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) programs offered in various departments/schools for 2016. 

Note: During the program student shall submit their thesis to the Registrar within five years but not earlier than 2.5 years in case of regular and 3.5 years in case of part time student from the date of admission. 

Eligibility Conditions

• ME/M.Tech/M.Phil/MCA/M.Sc /MA/MBA/CA or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale or 55% marks in aggregate where marks are awarded or NET (UGC/CSIR) qualified.
  
  
• Candidates with BE/B.Tech degree or equivalent with excellent academic record (minimum CGPA of 9.00 on 10 point scale or 80% marks in aggregate) may be considered for admission.

Selection Procedure

• Selection will be based on the entrance test and interview conducted by the university. 

Important Dates

• Last date for filling the online form: 01^st Dec, 2015.
• Date of entrance test: 21^st Dec, 2015 and 22^nd Dec, 2015.
• Declaration of test result: 04^th Jan, 2016.
• Date of interview: 08^th Jan, 2016.
• Admission notification and deposit of fee for PhD program: 11^th Jan, 2016 to –15^th Jan, 2016.
