CAT 2018 dates released

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) has announced the Examination dates for the much awaited Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018.

CAT 2018 will be held on 25th Nov, 2018 this year.  However detailed notification for CAT 2018 may be released in July/August.

Last year the official notification of India's top MBA examination i.e. Common Admission Test 2017 was released on July 31.

CAT 2018: Eligibility Criterior
Aspiring candidates need to possess a Bachelor's degree in any stream with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons With Disability (PWD) categories]), awarded by any university or educational institution as incorporated by an Act of the Parliament or State legislature in India or declared to be deemed as a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

Note: Candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply.

CAT 2018 entrance examination is held for admission to 20 IIMs situated at different place across India and more than 100 institutes.

CAT 2018: Exam details

CAT 2018 will consist of three sections to be completed in  180 minutes:

  • Section I: Verbal ability and reading comprehension
  • Section II: Data interpretation and logical reasoning
  • Section III: Quantitative ability

Candidates will be allotted exactly 60 minutes for answering questions in each section and they cannot switch from one section to another while answering questions in a section.  Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice types
