Odisha to hold special OJEE 2018 on July 22 to fill up vacant seats

Government of Odisha has decided to hold special Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) on July 22 to fill up vacant B Tech, MBA and MCA seats in engineering and management colleges.

However candidates who have already received rank in JEE Main 2018 for B Tech or OJEE 2018 for lateral entry to B Tech or MBA or MCA, are not required to appear the second or special OJEE said chairman-in-charge of OJEE.

Candidates can download rank cards and register their names online for filling of choices of colleges between July 27 and 29. First seat allotment will be held on July 30. Final allotment of seats and reporting to the college will be conducted on August 3, he added.

A total of 42,288 candidates had appeared for the OJEE held for 12 different streams including MBA, MCA, M Tech, B Pharm, M Pharm and Integrated MBA.

The test was conducted at 81 centres across 20 towns in the Odisha on May 13. Results of the OJEE 2018 had been published on May 25. A total of 42,283 candidates had been allotted ranks in the examination

Around 25,000 engineering seats out of 40,000 seats were lying vacant in different colleges last year in the state. Therefore several engineering colleges have reduced their seat strength by around 6,000 seats. So, admission will be held for around 34,000 seats this year.
