IIT JAM 2019 dates released

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur has started the online registration process for the Joint Admission Test (JAM) 2019. All the aspiring candidates can apply for the same by visiting the official website i.e jam.iitkgp.ac.in and following the instructions given there.

The Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is being conducted to provide admissions to MSc (Four Semesters), Joint MSc-PhD, MSc-PhD Dual degree, etc programmes at the IITs and Integrated PhD degree programmes at IISc for consolidating science as a career option for bright students.

Eligibility Conditions
Aspiring candidate must possess a bachelor's degree with minimum aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding-off:

  • 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for general/OBC (NCL) category candidates
  • (50%or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates)

considering all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries.

Age Limits:
There is no age restriction and the candidate can be an Indian national or a foreigner.

IIT JAM Exam Pattern

  • Session I: 9 am to 12 pm - Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA), Physics (PH)
  • Session II: 2 pm to 5 pm - Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematical Statistics (MS).

How to apply for IIT JAM 2019?

  • First of all Log on to JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS) link, jam.iitkgp.ac.in
    Register by entering your name, a valid e-mail address, a functioning mobile number, and a password
  • Apply for the examination online using your enrolment ID and password
  • Upload a photograph, signature and other documents like category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), etc
  • Pay the application fee through any of the electronic payment modes
  • Click to submit.

IIT JAM application fee:

  • For Female (All Categories)/SC/ST/PwD: Rs.750
  • For General and OBC: Rs.1500
