No RPET 2015 this year

07-May-2015

The Rajasthan Pre-Engineering Test (RPET) will be discontinued from the academic sessions 2015 and will be replaced with a Centralised Admission Committee (CAC), which will supervise the admissions to engineering colleges this year.

This year 70 percent of the seats are reserved for students from Rajasthan, 15 percent seats have been allotted for management quota, and the remaining 15 percent will be filled by students from all over India.

50% of the seats are reserved for students from Rajasthan will be filled through JEE 2015 merit list and the other 50% will be filled through Class 12 Board exams merit list.

In order to avoid disparity between students of CBSE and Rajasthan Board (RBSE), the authorities will take the marks obtained by students in Class 12 Board examinations and use it to make a merit list based on the percentile formula.

A total of 154 colleges having a total of 60,000 seats are affiliated to Rajasthan Technical University.

From the 2016-17 session the government plans on admitting students to engineering colleges solely on the basis of JEE merit list.
