CAT 2016: At a glance

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore has released the dates of CAT 2016. It will held at 138 cities across the city

The candidates have the option to select up to four choices as their examination city. The institute will try to assign the first city of choice to all candidates; however, if that is not possible, then the candidates will be assigned a city as per their mentioned order of preference

CAT 2016 Pattern

It will consist of three sections based on:

• Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension,
• Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and
• Quantitative Ability.

The exam would be held for duration of 180 minutes. The candidates will have 60 minutes for attempting each section, and they cannot switch from one section to another during each 60-minute slot

It will be conducted in two sessions on a single day. The exam is slated for December 4.

• The candidates must note that some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice type. Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen.
• The authorities will also release an online tutorial explaining the format of the examination on October 18
• The candidates will be allowed to use the basic on-screen calculator for computation
