JEE Main 2017 dates released with some changes

Dates for JEE main 2017 have been released. All those candidates who want to take this exam can visit the official website i.e www.jeemain.nic.in

The examination will be held by the Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc.

  • The last date to register for the examination is January 2, 2017.

Some changes in JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2017 will be as follows:

  1. From the academic year 2017, for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced examination, normalised score of class 12th marks will not be considered to determine JEE Main All India Ranks.
  2. 20000 more students will be able to apply for JEE Advanced 2017. This implies that the 2,20,000 candidates who clear JEE Main will be eligible to take JEE Advanced 2017.
  3. Aspirants planning to take the exam should hold an Aadhaar Card issued by UIDAI. The website states, "All the Indian citizen candidates should possess AADHAAR card issued by UIDAI. At the time of filling application form of JEE (Main)-2017, the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth and gender which will be validated with the UIDAI's data.  In case, these particulars do not match, the candidates will not be able to fill the application form for JEE (Main)-2017. Therefore, the candidates are advised to ensure that their AADHAAR card has correct details of their name, date of birth and gender as per school records. If there is some mismatch in these details, the candidates should immediately get it corrected in AADHAAR data or school records, as the case may be."
