JEE Mains 2017 last date to apply extended

The JEE (Mains) 2017 registration date has been extended to 16th Jan, 2017, earlier, the last date for the submission of an application form was 2nd Jan, 2017.

The 5th Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2017 is scheduled to be conducted on (Sunday) 2nd Apr, 2017. The examination will be held by the Central Board of Secondary Education for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions etc.

The Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Government of India, has notified following two changes in the JEE pattern for 2017:

  1. There shall be no weightage for class 12 marks in calculating the ranks in the JEE (Main) examination
  2. The candidates need to have qualified in the IITs/NITs/IIITs and such other CFTIs whose admissions are based on the JEE (Advanced)/JEE(Main) ranks, they should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12 examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the class 12 examination conducted by the respective boards.

For the SC/ST students, the qualifying marks would be 65% in class 12 examination.
