The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official notification for:

  • Group 'A' officers (Scale I, II and III) and
  • Group 'B' office assistants (multipurpose) in participating regional rural banks (RRBs)

Important Dates

Date of conduct of pre-exam training for officer scale- I:

  • 28th August to 3rd September, 2017

Date of conduct of pre-exam training for office assistant:

  • 4th to 9th Sep, 2017

Date of Online Examination - preliminary officer scale-I:

  • 9th and 10th Sep, 2017

Date of Online examination - preliminary office assistant: 

  • 17th and 23rd Sep, 2017

Date of Result of online exam - preliminary officer scale-I, office assistant:

  • Oct, 2017

Paper pattern:

  • Office Assistant (Multipurpose): The preliminary examination will consist of 80 questions based on reasoning and numerical ability. It will carry a total of 80 marks and will be held for a duration of 45 minutes.
  • Officer Scale I: The exam will consist of 80 questions based on reasoning and quantitative aptitude. It will carry a total of 80 marks and will be held for a duration of 45 minutes.

Main exam:

Office Assistant (Multipurpose): The exam will have 200 questions based on five following sections:

  • Reasoning
  • Numerical ability
  • General awareness
  • English language, Hindi language
  • Computer Knowledge

Officer Scale I: The exam will have 200 questions based on five following sections:

  • Reasoning
  • Quantitative aptitude
  • General awareness
  • English language, Hindi language
  • Computer Knowledge

Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer): The exam will have 200 questions based on five following sections:

  • Reasoning
  • Quantitative aptitude and data interpretation
  • Financial awareness
  • English language, Hindi language
  • Computer Knowledge

The exam will be held for two hours.

Officer Scale II (Specialist Cadre): The exam will have 240 questions based on five following sections:

  • Reasoning
  • Quantitative aptitude and data interpretation
  • Financial awareness
  • English language, Hindi language
  • Computer knowledge
  • Professional knowledge

The exam will be held for two hours and 30 minutes.

Officer Scale III: The exam will have 200 questions based on five following sections:

  • Reasoning
  • Quantitative aptitude and data interpretation
  • Financial awareness
  • English language, Hindi language
  • Computer knowledge
  • The exam will be held for two hours.
