BA Social Work or Bachelor of Arts in Social Work is an Under-Graduate Social Work course. The Social Work degree is a practice-based program that includes a grasp of several social work theories. Social work refers to a variety of services aimed at assisting and improving the well-being of the poor, elderly, and indigent. Social Work is a three-year study with six semesters, with a maximum completion time of six years. The duration of the program and the number of semesters may vary depending on the institute's policies, and the medium of teaching is often English and/or Hindi. The social work course teaches the values of social work and how to apply them intentionally in practice.

BA Social Work Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed their 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized Board.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (40% for SCs/STs) or equivalent at their Intermediate level.
  • The percentage requirement may vary depending on the institute.
  • Students with a background in Social Work / Psychology / Social Science / Sociology or any other related fields will get preference over others.
  • The applicants who are awaiting their results will also be eligible to apply. In such cases, admission to the program shall be provisional. If a provisionally admitted student fails in the Higher Secondary Examination, 10+2, or its equivalent course or secures less than the required marks, the offer of provisional admission will be automatically canceled.
  • A certain number of seats is reserved for candidates with a disability - (a) Low Vision/Blindness, (b) Hearing impairment, and (c) Locomotors Disability/Cerebral Palsy.
