BEd (Special Education) or Bachelor of Education in Special Education is an Under-Graduate Education course. Special education is defined as the education of kids with special needs in a way that takes into account the students' specific peculiarities and requirements.

More specifically, the Bachelor of Education in Special Education programme is designed to prepare instructors to educate special needs students, such as children with Hearing Impairment/Mental Retardation/Visual Impairment who attend Special Schools or General Schools in an integrated environment. The Bachelor of Education programme in Special Education lasts two years and is available at certain institutes on a part-time basis.

BEd (Special Education) Eligibility

  • The aspiring candidates must have qualified for their Bachelor of Education (Special) degree or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's
  • The applicant must have at least one school subject at the graduation level. OR
  • The aspiring candidates must have qualified for their MA / MSc / MCom or equivalent and must have at least one school subject at the graduation or post-graduation level.
  • Some reputed colleges make admissions through an entrance test merit list.
