You will be encouraged to think critically about the influence of popular and social media in shaping our daily lives.

The Master of Arts program in Culture and Media Studies investigates the role of media in perpetuating, distributing, and contesting hegemonic power relations, as well as how gender, sexuality, and 'race' are produced in connection to global media cultures. This curriculum teaches rigorous hands-on video production skills such as direction, research, screenplay, editing, cameras, and sound. It is also heavily focused on research. Students will be able to create documentaries and short films as a result of this. The Master of Arts program in Culture and Media Studies culminates in the production of a documentary and a dissertation.
