MTech Hydraulics & Water Resource Engineering or Master of Technology in Hydraulics & Water Resource Engineering is a Post-Graduate Water Resources Engineering program. The Hydraulics & Water Resource Engineering course examines the methodologies and techniques used in the analysis of water demands for agriculture, industry, homes, recreation, navigation, and hydroelectric power generation, as well as stormwater drainage and flood damage mitigation challenges. The Master of Technology course in Hydraulics & Water Resource Engineering assists in the resolution of problems related to water quality in streams and aquifers, erosion, sedimentation, the protection of ecosystems and other natural resources, integrated water management, and institutional, socioeconomic, and policy issues concerning the development and management of water resources.
The Hydraulics & Water Resource Engineering program provides a strong conceptual background in areas such as irrigation, hydrology, hydropower, water supply, and flood control, through a wide range of courses including applied fluid mechanics, free surface flows, surface water, hydrology, water resources planning and management, hydraulic modeling, irrigation technology, groundwater engineering, contaminant transport, finite element methods in water resources, unsteady open channel flows, stochastic methods in water resources technology, the economics of water resources planning, hydraulic transients, environmental hydraulics, simulation of water resources system, urban hydrology and storm drainage design and management, coastal zone management, expert system and evolutionary algorithm applications to water resources problems, water quality modeling, computing techniques, computer-aided analysis, and design.
