About Prosthetics & Orthotics

Prosthetics and Orthotics courses instruct students in the principles of formulation of treatment, designing, fabrication and fitting of assertive devices which includes prostheses and orthoses, developing evaluation of fitting, function &followup procedures. This course also provides skills to manage Prosthetic & Orthotic clinic & carry out evidence-based practice.

Wheelchair Service Training Package - The wheelchair is one of the most common assistive devices. It is estimated that 70 million people require wheelchairs worldwide, yet only 5-15% of people have access. Wheelchair service provision is very underdeveloped across the world. People in developing countries often depend on donated wheelchairs, which are frequently of poor quality and not suitable either for the users or their environment. Health and rehabilitation professionals are not always trained adequately to ensure people with disabilities get a quality wheelchair.

The following Training Package is to develop the skills and knowledge of personnel involved in wheelchair service delivery.

The Wheelchair Service Training Packages are in different levels such as:

• Basic Level - (5 days)
• Intermediate Level - (5 days)
• Manager Level- (2 days)
• TOT for Basic & Intermediate (5 days)
• Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) Programs-(3 days)
