Get Well Letter is a friendly letter written to anyone close and dear whenever they are sick or injured. It is an informal type of letter as it doesn’t actually follow the format of a formal letter. Another of its popular name is Get Well Soon Letter and more often seen in the form of get well cards and notes. Just like our day to day social customs wherein we wish Good Morning to each other, Get well soon letter is same but in a less interactive way. A get well letter is a goodwill gesture and one with good returns. If you are wondering how? Well, the answer is that when you have remembered someone in his sickness then as per the worldly observations - someone will do the same. It can also be a time to patch up old enmity or it can be a time to reciprocate a certain act done by the receiver which came to your rescue in troubled times. These are just some of the varied motivators behind writing a friendly letter of this sort but let’s not forget that more than anything else it is only care and love that should be reflected in your letter.  

Get well letters are big confidence builders and they work more than just bringing a smile on the receiver’s face. This is because that they can actually help in the recovery of the receiver. In market we may find get well soon cards or on the internet we may email get well e-cards. Though these are cost effective and require less effort, a physical get well soon letter is something else altogether. If written with your own hands it shows that you value the receiver and that you are ready to take an extra step to make the person feel better. These strengthen relationships especially the intimate ones. Sometimes you may be required to write get well soon letters to someone whom you don’t know well enough.
