Physiotherapist Eligibility

Educational Qualification
Aspiring candidate should hold a Bachelors degree in Physiotherapy (BPT) to become a Physiotherapist.  For this course, he should be 10+2 passed or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology and English. At least 50% of marks should be secured in each of these subjects.

Age Limits
The minimum age should be 17 years.

  • Physiotherapists must be able to build a rapport with patients and maintain communication with relatives and carers as well as other healthcare professionals, such as occupational therapists, GPs, health visitors, district nurses and social workers.
  • They should also be tolerant, patient, a team player and compassionate; be level-headed, practical and have good communication skills.
  • They also have attention to detail, continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to physically and emotionally demanding work; manual dexterity and good coordination.

 

How to become a Physiotherapist?

To become a Psychotherapist the aspiring candidates has to follow the given steps:

Step 1
After clearing +2 exams preferably in the medical stream the aspiring candidates have to get admission into Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) course having a duration of 3 to 4 years is some reputed college. Some institute may take a Common Entrance Test to provide admission to this course. 

These exams are generally held in the month of May-June and consist of Objective type questions on the subject of English, Physics, Chemistry; Biology through a number of questions and pattern may vary from test to test.

Step 2
After completing this three half years of BPT Degree course six months compulsory training one can opt. for some job is private or state-run hospitals or go for private practice after obtaining the necessary affiliation with respective medical councils or go for higher specialised courses like Master of Physiotherapy etc. in the respective fields.
