Career in Government Services has always been a first choice among the youths of India. Although craze for Government services was little shaken when India went global with the culture of multinational companies starting spreading in India during liberalization policy of Present Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh during his tenure as a finance minister in P.V Narsimha Rao Government way back in 1990s.Heavy pay packages and chances to travel to the foreign companies attracted the youths towards the private sector. But the attraction of power, easy work conditions and above all sense of security in the Government job win back the heart of youth back towards the Government Services in various capacities. The fifth pay scale does the rest by increasing the pay scale of Government employees to many folds. One can join Government -Centre and State- departments and organization in various capacities from being a clerk to a high end career as an IAS according to one’s education and capabilities. Despite privatization of many of the government organization still there are a lot of opportunities for the younger generation in Jobs & Employment in Government offices & organizations, Ministries, Parliament, Rural Development, Public sector companies as well as nationalized banks, and oil companies in India. Besides one can also Civil Service Jobs, Administrative job services, Auxiliary jobs, Judicial Jobs, Court jobs etc.

Jobs with state governments are the next best alternative for young job seeker State governments are the biggest employer in any state of India. These government vacancies are filled through respective Public Service Commission, public sector undertakings, public utility services like transport and electricity generation and distribution, etc.

Big cities are enriched with presence of government offices of both the central and state government organizations, as well as civic government bodies. Most mega cities of India are habitats of working people in the government services making it worthwhile to make a career in the government sector.
