Tea Broker as a profession is not very much sought after career option in spite of the fact that India is known as the world's largest producer, exporter and consumer of tea and there is wide scope for careers in this field. One can choose from a number of specialized jobs like a researcher, plantation managers, tea brokers, consultants etc. Tea brokers who have a good background in planting and tasting along with considerably good knowhow of market trends, auction the tea market the final product.
India has a blooming future as far as Tea Industry is concerned. Educational Qualification
To be eligible for joining a course for becoming a Tea Broker one should be 10+2 with preferably Biology as one of the subjects.
Age Limits
No age considerations are there for the age to join a course for becoming Tea Broker.
To become a Tea Broker one has to follow the given steps:
Step 1
After completing 12 class preferably with medical subjects one has to join some of the related undergraduate course like B. Sc. Agriculture. Some of the top institutes providing this course may take an entrance test to give admission.
Step 2
After completing this undergraduate course one can apply for some job in the government sector or public sector or may opt for the Post graduation in the specialized field like M.Sc in Horticulture at the postgraduate level that offers specializations in Tea Plantation.
Step 3
After completing the requisite qualification one can either join some big corporate house involved in this business or look for some government jobs offered by Tea Board of India and advertised in the newspapers from time to time.
One can join Tea Industry as Tea Broker and can rise as far as Manager/General Manager with the time and experience he gains during his job.
Tea brokers in India can work as consultant, landscape architect etc. with proper training. Professionals with business skills can also work as an entrepreneur and offer employment to others.
A qualified Tea broker can get anywhere near Rs.25,000 to Rs.30,000 in government service and if one starts his own business one can earn as good as Rs.45,000 to Rs.50,000 per month.
