Answer:
Kim Eric Drexler a.k.a. K. Eric Drexler is known as the godfather of nanotechnology. He is also referred as the undisputed godfather of nanotechnology because of his pioneering work in the field of molecular nanotechnology. During the late 1970’s, Drexler, an American engineer, came up with the idea that very tiny robots can move molecules so swiftly and precisely that they can produce almost any substance out of ordinary ingredients in a matter of hours. He called them Nanoscale Assemblers. A book was created from his 1991 doctoral thesis at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was published in 1992 and was known as Nanosystems: Molecular Machinery Manufacturing and Computation. It received the Association of American Publishers award for Best Computer Science Book of 1992.
