Swami Vivekanand Subharti University is a University under section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (U.G.C.) Act, 1956 having been setup under the Swami Vivekanand Subharti Vishwavidhaylaya Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam, 2008 (U.P.Act No.29 of 2008) as passed by Uttar Pradesh legislature and assented by the Honourable Governor of Uttar Pradesh in September 2008. The University came into existence on 5th September 2008. The University has been established under the aegis of Subharti K.K.B. Charitable Trust, Meerut.

The University is the creation of a great visionary Dr. Atul Krishna, the founder President of Subharti K.K.B Charitable Trust, Meerut, a renowned Surgeon & a great Nationalist. Subharti Krishna Kumar Bhatnagar Trust was established in 1991 by Smt. Rajwati Bhatnagar in the memory of her late educationist husband Dr. K.K. Bhatnagar. The University has been named after a Great Son of India, Swami Vivekanand, who was a key figure in the introduction of Vedant and Yog in Europe and America. The University is based on Subhartian Culture. Subharti is the manifestation of the ideas of  Dr. Atul Krishna. The Campus called Subhartipuram, is spread over a sprawling 200 acres of land comprising of magnificent building and lush green lawns. The students are supposed to wear uniform in accordance with stream they are pursuing.

Guru Gobind Singh Subharti Dental College - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 100 students in BDS course and 25 in MDS course. The total strength in Dental College is about 600 students. IGNOU has designated this college as centre for PG Diploma in Oral Implantology.

Neta ji Subhash Chandra Bose Subharti Medical College - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 100 students in MBBS, 23 in MD and MS courses, 50 in M.Sc. (Medical), 40 in M.Sc. (MIT/MLT) and Ph.D. course. It has got total strength of 625 students and 147 faculty members.

Jyoti Rao Phulle Subharti Physiotherapy and Paramedical College - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having annual intake capacity of 60 students in BPT and 40 in MPT courses. It has got total strength of about 150 students and 12 faculty members.

Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 100 students in GNM, 40 in B.Sc. (Nursing), 20 in Post B.Sc. (Nursing) courses. It has got total strength of 330 students and 20 faculty members.

Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Subharti Institute of Technology & Engineering - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 360 students in B. Tech., 90 in M. Tech. It has got total strength of 1200 students and 57 faculty members.

Subharti College of Higher Education and Subharti College of Management & Information and Technology - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 60 students in MBA, 120 in BBA, 180 in BCA, 60 in B. Lib., 25 in M. Lib., 10 in M. Phil. (Lib. Sc.), 10 in M. Phil. (Edu.), 200 in B.Ed., 50 in B.P. Ed., 50 in B.P.E., 60 in B.H.M., 30 in D.H.M. and 200 in B.A.. It has got total strength of around 1000 students and over two scores of faculty members.

Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 160 students in B.A.LL.B., 60 in LL.M., 10 in M. Phil. (Law) and 10 in Ph.D. It has got a total strength of about 200 students over a dozen senior 12 faculty members.

Subharti College of Journalism & Mass Communication - It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses having intake capacity of 50 students in B.J.M.C., 50 in M.J.M.C., 50 in P.G.D.J.M.C. It has got total strength of about 40 students and 04 faculty members.

Subharti Institute of Fine Arts & Fashion Design - It is being developed by its renowned professionals in the field with experienced faculty members having courses in B.F.A., D.F.A. & C.C.A.

Kharvel Subharti College of Pharmacy - It offers courses having intake capacity of 40 in B. Pharm. and 40 in D. Pharm. It has got total strength of 40 students and 04 faculty members with Dr. Rajat Varshney as its HOD.

Subharti Institute of Security & Intelligence Management - It offers courses in PG Diploma for Security Officer, Diploma for Security Manager, Certificate Course for Security Supervisors and Training Program for Security Guards.

Location - The main campus of the university is in the National Capital Region strategically situated on National Highway-58, Meerut Bypass Road, Meerut. The University campus is about 60 kms from Delhi. Being located on National Highway 58, the campus is connected with Delhi and other important cities of the country by a network of national highways. The nearest Airport (domestic and international) is Delhi, which is connected with Meerut by road and rail.

Facilities

Hostel Facilities - There are separate Hostels for boys and girls having air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms. Separate Hostel facility is also available for NRI students. Messing facility is available in all the Hostels. Residential Accommodation is also available for Teaching & Non-Teaching Staff.

Teaching Facilities / Aids - The latest and best available Audio-Visual Teaching Aids like OHP, LCD, Visualiser etc. are available in all the Lecture Theatres. The Lectures are corroborated with practical exercises in all the Departments.

Laboratories - Each Department has its own Laboratory. Computer Laboratory is facilitated with Internet facility  for the students.

Computer Facilities - All the Departments have Computers with availability of CD’s for the students to learn on their own.

Library - The Central Library is equipped with more than 40000 Books & 1200 Journals. Each Department has its own Library as well.

DDE - Directorate of Distance Education provides various Undergraduate, Post-Graduate and Diploma courses in various streams like Arts, Commerce, Science, Library Science, Computer etc.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Subharti Hospital - Chhatrapati Shivaji Subharti Hospital is one of the biggest hospitals in and around Meerut. It is a 800 bedded hospital with OPD in all departments Medicine, surgery, TB& Chest, Skin, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry and Gynae & Obst. High quality medical care to the poorest of the poor at a very low cost is provided. Speciality Clinics are run in all the departmental OPDS. The hospital has modern well equipped 11 (eleven) O.T’s, Labour rooms Nursery. There are separate ICU for Surgery, Medicine. Paediatrics, Burn with ventilator, Bipap & defibrillator facilities. 

Education Facilities for Foreign Nationals - Applications should be submitted through and recommended by the Indian High Commission/Embassy. The admission in some of the medical courses shall be subject to grant of a ‘No Objection Certificate’ in individual cases by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India. The last date for receiving applications for the medical college session starting in July, is 31st May. For other courses, the last date is 30th June, extendable till 31st July with late fees. The University shall make every effort to accommodate eligible overseas applicants in all the courses, provided their applications are received within time. An overseas student, who is not in a position to attend classes regularly, has the option to enrol himself for learning through distance education, in which study material will be made available at the doorstep of the student and he/she will be required to attend the University only once in a year for a month for personal contact programme and examination. The degree awarded after completion of the course through distance education is at par in all respect with the degree awarded to regular students. *The dates are subject to change.

Transport and Security Facility - The University provides Transport Facilities to resident students, day scholars, staff and faculty. The University also has a strict arrangement for security of the students.

Banking Facility - Oriental Bank of Commerce, Meerut provides basic Banking Facilities like ATM cards and educational loan facility.

Telecom Facilities - ISD / STD / PCO Facilities are available to students. Students can keep Mobile Phones in their Hostels but not in College and Hospital. Recharge Facility is also available.

Auditorium - The University has 2 Auditoriums and 2 more Multi-purpose Halls which are used for various activities like seminars, symposia, debates, cultural activities etc.

Counselling - The Career Counselling services assist students in Career Planning, Employment Prospects, Careers Choice Decision and Job Search. Clinical Psychologist provides support to any student facing a difficult time.

Cyber Cafe - A Cyber Cafe is available to meet the Internet needs of the students.

Sports & Fitness Facilities - There are 2 separate large play grounds to facilitate various sports. There is a fully equipped Gymnasium for boys and girls, separately.

Canteen - The Canteen provides various food items at subsidised rates for the students.

Placement - Every year a number of reputed companies visit the Institute for Campus Placement. Candidates are sleeted on the basis of their performance in their respective competitive examinations and interviews.

Alumni - The constituent Colleges of the University have separate alumni societies, which are very active and keep track of the personal and professional developments of its members. Achievements

• Subharti Dental College's departments of Oral Surgery, Periodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Medicine and Radiology have published 41 papers in International and National journals during September 2008 to September 2009, and few more have been accepted.

• Dr. Sweta Grover of Subharti Medical College attended a fellowship in Dermatology at Hamburg Medical Institute, Germany and was awarded a Gold Medal.
