The Jaypee Institute of Information Technology JIIT Declared deemed to be a University Under Section 3 of UGC Act. 1957 vide Notification No. F.9-27/2000-U.3 dated 1st November, 2004 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The JIIT is fully backed and supported by the Jaypee Group of Companies through its not-for-profit trust Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS).

The state-of-the-art campus at a total project cost of Rs 6800 lakhs, with a total built-up area of over 6,50,000 sq. ft comprising smart buildings with Internet connectivity. M/s Arcop Associates Pvt. Ltd. an eminent Canada-based architect firm has done the architectural design of the campus with the construction being undertaken by the Group itself.

The University offers Doctoral, Post-graduate (M.Tech. and MCA) as well as Undergraduate programs (B.Tech.) of study in the disciplines of Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Biotechnology. The JIIT University aims to develop engineers with the capability to design and implement computer-based systems, tools, and equipment.

Location - JIIT is situated near the Electronic City at Noida and is at a distance of 3 km from New Delhi - U.P. border.

Admissions - Earlier there used to be a separate entrance test for the university. Now the entrance has been affiliated with JEE Mains

Facilities

Hostels - The campus presently has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls All the hostel rooms are provided with LAN connectivity with 24 hours internet through the main server of the academic block. reading rooms and additional sports facilities like table tennis rooms, chess, and carrom rooms. The hostel is also connected with outdoor sports centers for lawn tennis, basketball, volleyball and badminton. The hostels are equipped with generators in order to provide 24-hour's electricity supply, water heaters, water freezer, etc. There is an upcoming Swimming Pool (under construction) and Gymnasium for students.Sarojini Bhavan and Rajendra Prasad Bhavan

Sports - The Sports Complex comprises of Basket Ball Ground, Tennis Courts, Badminton Courts, Volley Ball Court, T.T. Tables, Football Ground, Cricket Practice Net & Gymnasium Halls. Indoor sports facilities include a Billiard table, Pool table, Carrom and Chess. The Swimming Pool is under construction.

Laboratories - Department Of Computer Science and Information Technology, Department Of Biotechnology, and Department Of Physics have their own labs. These are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Fundamental Programming Lab - CL1 and Biochemistry Laboratory are few of the labs.

Learning Resource Center - LRC is a backbone of academic and research activities of the University and has been catering to the information needs of the faculty members, students, staff, and research scholars.It has around 24050 volumes of books and more than 4000 e-journals which are covering the disciplines of Computer Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, Mathematics, Physics and Materials Science, Humanities, Management and other areas related to Engineering, Science and Technology. The collection comprises printed documents such as books, reports, theses, standards, atlases, patents, and back volumes of journals. The non-book collections include material like audio/video cassettes and CDROM discs etc.

The LRC is a member of the Indian National Digital Library in Engineering, Sciences and Technology and All India Council of Technical Education (INDEST- AICTE) and has been subscribing to IEEE, ACM, Springer Link and LNCS digital libraries. LRC is also a member of the Developing Library Network (DELNET) for sharing the resources among its member libraries. The LRC has three-story separate centrally air-conditioned building which can accommodate around 350 users at a time to carry out academic and research activities such as reading books, accessing electronic journals, the internet, computer programming and software development etc. It is connected to high-speed internet and the intranet of the JIIT network.

Training and Placement - This Cell of the University centrally handles campus placement of the graduating students of all our campuses, namely, JIIT University, Noida, JUIT Solan, JIET Guna and JAYPEE Business School The Cell provides complete support to the visiting companies at every stage of placement process Arrangements for Pre-Placement Talks, Written Tests, Interviews, Group Discussions etc. are made as per the requirements of the Organizations.

Extra-Curricular Activities - At JIIT University, JYC, the sole student body of the college, believes in furthering the development of the students as a whole, and strives to provide a climate that nurtures the holistic development of our students, an environment that is trusting and spontaneous; and encourages flexibility, celebration and recognition. This is achieved through annual cultural, technical fests, various events, parties, treks, outings and other spontaneous activities to maintain high levels of enthusiasm and team integration. Focusing on technical, literary, sports, and cultural competitive activities, apart from serving as a retreat from intense academic loads, these extracurricular activities present with an opportunity this build confidence, encourage teamwork and gives students a strong sense of achievement and belonging.

Creativity And Innovation Cell - Robotics, Ribose and Electronics are some cells that encourage the opinion of individuals and endeavors in the university as well as the country.

Summer Training - In order to meet the manpower requirements of the Industry, we at JIIT University put great value in collaborating with Industry in ensuring that our students acquire the right knowledge, skill and aptitude through practical training in Industry. As per our academic program, the students, on completion of their 6th semester of B.Tech have to undergo Summer Training in Industry during summer break. This training is an integral part of the curriculum and is aimed at making the students get acquainted with the processes, practices, as well as rigor and complexities of the industrial world.
