Nehru Gram Bharati (NGB) is a self financed Deemed University. Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, vide its Notification No. F-9-42/2005-u.3 (A) dated 27th June 2008, made dream project of Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru a reality by notifying Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya under section 3 of UGC Act 1956. With this notification Rajiv Gandhi Post Graduate College, Kotwa - Jamunipur, Allahabad stands elevated to the status of Vishwavidyalaya from the session 2008-2009. NGBU is also a society registered under societies Registration Act. 1860 and is exempted from Income Tax u/s 80G vide registration No. 58-59/359/12 AA & 80G (5) (VI)/still/Allahabad -/2007-08. The establishment of the NGBV was initiated by Late Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru, former Prime Minister of India, when on 26th July, 1962; the foundation stone of the institute was laid at village Dubawal near Jamunipur-Kotwa of his Phulpur Parliamentary constituency. On this occasion addressing the gathering, he emphasized the need of vocational, technical and professional education apart from conventional one. He promised his electorate that the children's of Kisans need not to go to the cities for higher education, instead, would be educated and trained in the rural institutes, which is being setup in the village itself. These would also get employment/self employment opportunities in their own villages. He also hoped that such rural institutes would come up in other part of the country also.
Rajiv Gandhi Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya, presently comprised into Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya and had been evaluated by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), UGC and had been accredited by B+ Grade. This Degree College was established in the year 1996 by Shri. G.D. Memorial Trust and all the Syllabus’s were automatically converted into Nehru Gram Bharati's Syllabus from the session i.e. 2008-09. Nehru Grambharati University has a vibrant campus of 25 acres faraway the maddening crowd and polluted environment located in kotwa jamunipur dubawal. The university has another campus at Hanumanganj on the Allahabad-Varanasi Route. This campus is spread over about 3 acres of land.

Facilities at NGBU
Hostel – The University has off campus hostel facility for and girls at jhunsi, Hanumanganj and Allahabad. These hostels are well connected with our bus facility.
Libraries – The central library is situated in the main campus and has more than 30 thousand books. It has a sitting capacity of more than 100 students at one time. The reading room has large range and editions of newspapers, magazines, journals and other important write-ups. Besides Central library, there are departmental libraries, especially for professional subjects. In addition some departments also have book bank facility.
Railway Concession - Regular students of University are eligible for the railway concessions. Daily travellers can avail the facility of monthly concessions. Students going on excursions, educational tours will also get the facility of railway concession. To avail the facility students have to apply to the student’s welfare at least before one week.
Lecture Halls - NGBV campuses have spacious, well set, and ventilated classrooms and lecture halls. They are equipped with technical devices such as multimedia projectors, smart board etc.
Computer Laboratories - The University has a multimedia computer centre and computer laboratories having advanced computing facilities to provide unbridled free internet access to all the students.
Scholarship and Fees Concession - There is an arrangement of fees concession for the unprivileged students. Eligible candidates would be recommended for scholarship and Library use. Unprivileged general students would also be entitled for scholarship. Fee concession will be given to students on the basis of discipline, behaviour, ability and poverty.
Special Package for SC/ST - Students under this category will get all those facilities given by the state government and social welfare department. For this facility it is necessary for students to submit the form No. 23, caste certificate and salary certificate along with the admission form.
Seminar/Workshops - The University motivates faculty members and student to organize seminar and workshops.
Sports - University promotes indoor and outdoor games such as football, volleyball, kabaddi, chess, cricket, carom, badminton etc.
Training Placement - University has a placement committee which looks after the proper placement of the students.
Summer Internship - As per the curriculum summer internship is the integral part of the M.B.A. programme wherein all students are required to undertake project in an organization. Through this they work with that particular organization and get practical experience of the work culture followed in the corporate world. These enhance the skill and knowledge of the student. The project undertaken by them, help them to frame their professional career, through the practical experience they gain.
Seminars and Conferences – Various seminars, conferences and workshops are organised on regular interval by the institute.
