About National Law University and Judicial Academy - NLUJA Assam

National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam is an autonomous law schools in India. It is located in Guwahati, Assam. The National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam has been established as a torchbearer in the field of education in the country. The institution has been established by “The National Law School & Judicial Academy, Assam Act”, that is Assam Act XXV of 2009. It was established in 2010 by the Government of Assam (Assam Act XXV of 2009) as a public university dedicated to the field of legal education. And it is spread over 21 acres. Historically, the institute is founded by The Committee appointed by the Chief Justices’ Conference on Legal Education and Training (1993) and the All India Law Ministers’ Conference (1995). It had resolved to set up in each State of India a Law School modeled on the lines of the National Law School of India University at Bangalore in Karnataka for improving the quality of professional legal education in the country.

The University Campuses - The Law University has two campuses. Currently, it is functioning from a temporary campus which is set up at NEJOTI building (North East Judicial Officers' Training Institute) in Ulubari area of Guwahati. Second is the permanent campus of National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam is being constructed at Amingaon (near the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati.

Hostel Facilities - The University provides hostel facilities for both the campuses for boys and girls. It provides neat and clean food along with many other facilities. There is also home environment in hostel campuses.

Library Facilities - The University library is developed in a manner that it enhances research, innovative and independent original thinking of the students, researchers, scholars and teachers. It also provides many modern facilities related to books, journals and other ways of knowledge.

Computer Lab Facilities The University provides this facility to facilitate the field of e- learning and e-research which is also a part of the university curriculum. The university has developed a well-equipped computer laboratory with Wi-Fi connectivity.
