Mangalayatan University has been created by Uttar Pradesh State Legislature under the “Mangalayatan University, Uttar Pradesh Act” and notified by the Government of Uttar Pradesh as Act No. 32 of 2006, notified by its Gazette No. 362/VII-V-1-1(Ka)-12/2006 dated October 30, 2006. Mangalayatan University is a fully Government recognized University with the right to confer degrees under section 2f and 22(1) of the UGC Act. The University has derived the name Mangalayatan by the combination of two words; Mangal and Ayatan, which refers to the Home (Place) that endows bliss (contentment) and positive vibrations. Mangalayatan University has achieved distinction of being one of the premier educational centres of Northern India which believes in imparting quality education and to make its budding technocrats and professionals not only strong in their respective specialized streams but also good citizens. There are regular sports and curricular activities undertaken under the guidance of experienced and celebrated trainers. Approx 4000 students are enrolled in Postgraduates, Undergraduates and Diploma Programs. There is strong teams of over 160 teaching faculty members.University has about 250 non-teaching employees. These include technical, and support staff, attendants, drivers, gardeners and maintenance personnel to cater to the requirements of the faculty and students. The staff is articulate, well trained and qualified. It is a co-educational Institution, open to all nationalities, without any discrimination of caste, creed or religion. The list of the present academic partners of the group includes C-Voter Delhi, Pavna Group, Veera Fragrances Delhi, Delhi Public School Agra, Delhi Public School Aligarh, Prashant Group Aligarh, and many more. With a sprawling campus of over 65 acres, technology that is state-of-the-art, spacious amply ventilated classrooms equipped with advanced PA and display systems, Mangalayatan offers the best infrastructural facilities in UP. The University has a well equipped audio visual centre and language lab possessing the latest equipment. All these make the infrastructure incomparable and advantageous.

Location - University Campus is 33 km far on Aligarh-Mathura Highway, in Beswan, Aligarh from Aligarh.

Facilities

Computer Centre - Computer Centre is very important and primary computing resource for the students. The entire MU campus has well equipped wireless network ensuring mobile computing at all locations with high speed connection. A local area network covers the entire premises. Facilities include high-speed HP Laser network printers for students. The MU software library includes all latest and advanced software like Windows 2000/XP, Professional, Unix, Redhat Linux 9.0, Microsoft Visual Studio 2000, MS Project 2000, MS Visual Studio 6.0 Enterprise, MS Back office 2000, ORACLE 9i (Enterprise), Internet Developer Suite with ATS, Visual Age for Java Enterprise, Web Sphere Studio Advance Edition, Macromedia Director AE, CorelDraw, Photoshop and Mathematic 4.2.

Hostels - Separate facilities for boys and girls have been arranged keeping in view their needs. Caring wardens and round the clock tight, vigilant security ensure a pleasant and safe stay allowing students to focus on their studies. The hostels of the University are housed in a six storied building with covered area of 1,70,000 sq. ft. there are separate wings for boys and girls. Two seater and three seater furnished rooms are allotted as per choice & availability. All the rooms are spacious, airy and have attached toilets. Approximate 350 students (200 boys & 150 girls can be accommodated in the hostels. Round the clock supply of hot and cold water, Gym, Table Tennis Court, Laundry, Beauty Parlour for girl students are the other salient features. Medical aid facility has been provided on the campus premises.

Canteen / Mess - Canteen and mess of the University provides total vegetarian food with balanced diet, kitchen is modern, spacious, ventilated, clean and fully mechanized for cooking that serves hygienic, delicious, tasty and healthy. Jain food with daily change in the menu as per the demand and taste of the students is also available.Supply of aqua filtered and tested water and unique Dinning Hall accommodating 400 students at a time with separate arrangement for boys, girls, faculty and staff is a major feature. Canteen is also neat and clean and offers varieties of vegetarian and nutritious snacks & beverage.

Central Library - MU has a fully automated and computerized library that uses Information technology for all the activities. The library also has reading and book bank facility. It contains advanced and latest literature on Engineering, Sciences, Management, Pharmacy and Journalism and Mass Communication, Arts and Social Sciences, Applied Sciences, Travel and Tourism Management. The University boasts of a rich collection of books, magazines, audio and video cassettes, CDs and VCDs, microfilms and Micro-fiche. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility is now available at the entrance of central library as well as at departmental libraries to facilitate online search of books available with Title, Author, Keyword and Subject search options. In addition to fully automated central library, all Department of Mangalayatan University have their own libraries to facilitate easy access to the faculty.

Digital Library - MU has a very advanced and well-equipped digital library for enhancing the knowledge of the students. The library is hooked on to various networks for procuring books and journals. Current Holdings includes volumes, titles, international journals, national journals, online journals and CDs The library is networked with high speed internet access.

Judo - Among various sporting facilities at MU Judo takes the cake by providing a celebrity trainer specializing in training of self defence among girl students.

Training And Placement Cell - The Placement Cell plays a crucial role in scouting for and locating job opportunities for the young graduates and post graduates passing out from the University by keeping liaison with reputed firms and industrial establishments. It functions under the supervision of a full time Placement Officer. The Cell operates year round, to facilitate contacts between companies and graduates. Some of the companies that visited the university to select students for summer training were IOC (Mathura Refinery), SBI, BHEL etc. Companies that are tied up for campus placement include Moser Baer, Relaxo, HDFC Bank etc.

Language Learning Centres- The placement cell has launched the LLC to teach students Hindi and foreign languages such as German, French and Japanese.

Technical Association - University Technical Association that exists in each branch, arranges orientation lectures and technical seminars by experts from industries and other renowned educational institutions to mould competent professionals and to accelerate them in their pursuit for professional excellence. The Association also organizes industrial visits to create technical awareness among students.

Associations & Clubs- The MU encourages and conducts various extra-curricular activities, which have proved to be a roaring success so far, with active participation of students and overwhelming support of the teachers. Various clubs include Music And Dramatics Club, Quiz And Debate Club, Philatelic Club and Literary Club

PDP - The Personality Development Programs through its various tools such as loco inventory, personal effectiveness scale takes you to a whole new world of Behavioural Sciences. The University has initiated sequential personality development programs for each batch. Its major feature is Group Discussions on various topics aimed at developing leadership qualities team spirit and communication skills.

Pupil-Teacher Concept - To improve the confidence and communication skills, a new Pupil-Teacher concept has been introduced by the University. Under this concept a group of 10 to 20 students will be taught by a topper. Object of this concept is to empower the brilliant students.

Auditorium & Seminar Hall - The MU Auditorium provides a modern venue for holding large meetings and conferences. University also provides for a separate air-conditioned seminar hall.

Transport - University provides good bus facility for the convenience of the students. Over 35 buses ply between the University Campus and various nearby towns and cities.

Security - Over 150 security personal are on the campus round the clock to provide fool proof security. Their morning and evening change drills are a treat to watch. Well mannered security men are there at every location in the campus.
