About MATS University

MATS stands for Mahaveer Academy of Technology and Science. It was established under Chhattisgarh Act No. 29 of 2006 [Chhattisgarh Private Universities (Establishment and Operation) (Amendment) Act, 2006]. It is recognised by UGC under section 2(f) of UGC act 1956. MATS University provides holistic education that combines modernity with classical grace, scientific professionalism and humanistic compassion to prepare India to meet the opportunities of future. MATS University offers approximately 50 diverse courses ranging from Fashion Designing to Biotechnology, both at the Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels, matching the requirements of the industry. MATS - M.B.A, M.C.A. and Engineering is approved by AICTE, B.Ed is approved by NCTE and Law school is approved BCE. It is promoted by the Jain Group of Institutions, Bangalore.

Facilities

Hostels - There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The boys hostel can accommodate 350 students and girls hostel an accommodate 100 students. Facilities include - air-cooled, peaceful & natural surroundings located in the heart of town, well-furnished rooms, continuous purified normal/cold drinking water, washing machine, round o'clock security, first-aid, two wheeler parking, newspaper, common room with TV, kitchenette etc. Parents are kept informed about hostel life of their children, with phone calls and letters.

Matsotsav -It is a cultural extravaganza presented by the students. Dance, drama, song and other varieties of the stage performances spice up the prize distribution, academic honours & annual report presentation. Awards are given by the honorable Chief Guest who always happens to be a distinguished personality from the field of Academics, Arts, Sports or Social Service.

Annapoorna - As a part of social responsibility towards the poor and unprivileged people of our country, an annual social movement called Annapoorna is organised.  It is a clarion call to all individuals and organizations who would like to make a difference to the life of others. As an individual we may not be able to bring high impact on society development and upliftment but together we can change the lives of masses and it is possible. With this mission the students contribute and work towards collecting Rice as much as possible through different activities. The institutions which are benifitted from this movement are: leprosy colony, prerna blind school, seva niketan, bal jeevan jyoti and vanvasi vikas samiti

Sports - Sporting activities display the liveliness of academic institutes. It is the best way to improve one's health and spirits that is essentially required to excel in all the aspects of one's life. University sporting talents have won glorious achievements at district, state and national level in different disciplines of sports. Facilities for indoor games like Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess and pool are provided in the University campus. There is a fully equipped multipurpose Hall where Yoga, Martial-art, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo Classes are conducted for our students. Well equipped and separate portions of Aerobic and Weight Room are the part of Fitness Centre.

Achievements

• MATS University is the only academic institute in Chhattisgarh State which has fully Air Conditioned Gymnasium.
