M.Tech. (Hydraulics)
Master of Technology in Hydraulics
| Duration: | 2 Years |
| Level: | Post Graduation |
| Type: | Degree |
| Eligibility: | Graduation |
M.Tech. Hydraulics or Master of Technology in Hydraulics is a two year post graduate Civil Engineering course. Hydraulic engineering is the application of fluid mechanics principles to problems dealing with the collection, storage, control, transport, regulation, measurement, and use of water. It is a highly competitive academic program. Course helps to develop scientific and technological knowledge, to prepare students for engineering activities (design, running and maintenance) of structures and grids used for the collection, the treatment, the storage and the distribution of water. This program aims at training specialists in both the public and private sectors capable of addressing today's and future issues and needs in hydraulic and civil engineering, hydraulic works and infrastructures, hydrology, and water resources management. The program emphasizes the following focus areas: Experimental and numerical methods, constitutive modeling, physical modeling, numerical modeling and structural engineering, water treatment and resource. It contains a review of the fundamental equations of Fluid Mechanics, an expansion of the methods of momentum analysis known from Thermo fluids, and a detailed discussion of the powerful technique of Dimensional Analysis, which allows the systematic discovery of parameter sets that govern the characteristic features of a flow.
M.Tech. Hydraulics Eligibility
- B.E./ B.Tech. or equivalent degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct entrance examination to get admission to the degree course.
