B.E Civil Engineering is a four-year program and the course deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of structures and works like bridges, tunnels, canals, buildings, airports, waterworks, sewage systems, highways & rail-roads, water-ways & canals, dams & powerhouses, water treatment & sewage disposal system, ports, docks & harbors, etc while protecting the public and environmental health, as well as improving the existing infrastructures.

The Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering degree makes a student well capable and responsible for planning and designing a project, constructing the project to the required scale, and maintenance of the project.

BE Civil Engineering Eligibility

  • Aspiring students should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized University
  • 10+2 Class should be completed with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the main subjects studied
  • Must possess a minimum of 55% aggregate marks at the intermediate level
  • Some reputed colleges conduct their own entrance exams for admissions to their colleges.
  • Selection to the B.E (Civil Engineering) degree course is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exams.
  • Entrance Exams such as the different national and state level entrance exams such as the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE), Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT), etc, are conducted by different universities and colleges across the country.
  • A Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) in the country. The entrance to the IITs can be secured only after clearing this JEE.
  • An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers (AMIE), which enables working people in the private/public sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering through distance education. The degree awarded is considered equivalent to a regular BE in Civil Engineering degree.
