BPO or Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics is an undergraduate Bioscience program. Prosthetists and Orthotics are concerned with the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the entire body. Prosthetists make prosthetic limbs (prostheses) for persons who are lacking all or part of a natural limb. Orthotists fit clients with limb or spine disorders with supportive braces and splints (orthoses). Prosthetists and Orthotics deal with people of various ages and with a variety of needs.

The Bachelor of Prosthetics and Orthotics program integrates the study of the human body with the effects of forces on the body (biomechanics) as well as the materials and procedures utilized in the fabrication of prostheses and orthoses. You will learn how to examine, diagnose, and treat persons who require prosthetic and orthotic care in this course. The practical emphasis will be given alongside the necessary theory and background material.
