MDS Prosthodontics or Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics is a postgraduate Dentistry course. Dentists who complete the Master of Dental Surgery program in Prosthodontics diagnose, prevent, and treat disorders with teeth or oral tissue. They clean teeth, fix cavities, take X-rays, apply plastic sealants to children's teeth, straighten teeth, and repair shattered teeth. They also treat gum problems by performing corrective surgery on the gums and supporting bones. MDS Prosthodontics Eligibility
- The minimum qualification for this course is a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India.
- Candidate not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS course of any University in India.
- The Age Limit is mostly 21 years of age. The selection of students to MDS is based on the merit of the candidate and for the determination of merit. All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) is conducted by various Dental Colleges or by the agency specified by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
- Some reputed colleges and institutes do conduct entrance examinations to get admission to their MDS (Prosthodontics) degree course.
