Ph.D. Prosthodontic or Doctor of Philosophy in Prosthodontic is a Doctorate Medical Dentistry course. Prosthodontics is the dental specialty responsible for the diagnosis, treatment planning, rehabilitation and maintenance of patients with complex oro-dental and maxillofacial clinical conditions by using biocompatible substitutes, including implants, to replace missing or deficient teeth and/or craniofacial tissues. During the course many things are done such as complete and removable partial dentures, laminates, ceramic crown and bridges and implant retained prostheses are fabricated. The duration of the course is three years, but it may be more than this depending various on institutes.
