MAH MCA CET 2024 - MAH MCA CET is one of the common MCA Entrance exams in India. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test is taken for admission to the First Year of the three-year Full-Time Post Graduate Degree Course in MCA in the Government University managed University Departments and Unaided Institutes in the state of Maharashtra.

Educational Qualification
- Candidate should have passed (or appeared) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case BC categories belonging to Maharashtra only) in Bachelor’s /Master’s Degree in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination. OR
- Passed with any Bachelor's degree of a minimum of three years duration in any discipline and appeared for the final year examination of any Post Graduate degree of a minimum of two years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.
- Such candidates can be considered for provisional admission subject to passing the Post Graduate Degree exam with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for BC categories belonging to Maharashtra) and having studied Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination.
Important: Candidates should have appeared for the final year degree examination (Graduation/Post Graduation) and fulfilling the remaining eligibility criteria will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass and submit the results of the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September of the year of admission.
- In case, such a candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before September 2021, then admission offered to the such candidate automatically stands canceled and the fees (tuition, development, and other fees) paid by the candidate will be forfeited. OR
- The candidate has passed Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS), and Bachelor of Science (Computer/Information Technology) degree courses.
Note: For the Maharashtra State Type A candidates the Home University shall be considered on the basis of place of passing the Graduation degree examination. The place of passing Post Graduate degree, if any, will not be considered for deciding the Home University of the candidate.
Age limits: There is no specific upper or lower age limit for taking this exam.

General Aptitude
|
- The objective of this paper is to assess the general aptitude of the candidate to pursue computer applications and the software profession.
|
- The questions in this paper will consist of logical reasoning, quantitative reasoning, high school mathematics, vocabulary, English comprehension, and verbal ability.

Computer Concepts
|
- Computer Basics: Organization of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), Structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, memory organization, and backup devices.
- Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers, and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, Binary Arithmetic: Addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, signed arithmetic, and two's complement arithmetic, floating-point representation of numbers, normalized floating-point representation, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.

- Computer Architecture: Block structure of computers, communication between the processor and I / O devices, interrupts.
- Computer Language: Assembly language and high-level language, Multiprogramming and time-sharing operating systems, Computer Programming in C.
- Operating System Basics: Multiprogramming and timesharing operating systems.

Mathematics
|
- Mensuration: Areas, triangles, and quadrilaterals, area and circumference of circles, volumes, and surface areas of simple solids such as cubes, spheres, cylinders, and cones.
- Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, and measures of dispersions, skewness and kurtosis, random variable and distribution functions, mathematical expectations, Binomial, Poisson, normal distributions, curve fitting, and the principle of least squares, correlation, and regression.

- Algebra: Fundamental operations in Algebra, Expansion, factorization, Quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, binomial theorem, permutations, and combinations.
- Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, equations of a line, midpoint, intersections, etc., equations of a circle, distance formulae, the pair of straight lines, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola, simple geometric transformations such as translation, rotation, scaling.

- Differential Equations: Differential equations of the first order and their solutions, linear differential equations with constant coefficients, and homogenous linear differential equations.
- Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, the solution of triangles, height and distance, inverse function.
- Arithmetic: Ratios and proportions, problems on time-work, distance-speed, percentage, etc.
- Set Theory and Functions: Set, relations, and mappings.

MAH MCA CET 2024 Pattern
The CET will be conducted in the online mode
The Online CET would be comprised of two online papers i.e. General Aptitude (GA) and Computer Concepts (CC) of 100 marks each
The total duration of the test will be of 90 minutes duration
Each paper shall have 25 questions
There would be negative marking
Each wrong answer will carry 1 negative mark
