Welder as a profession has suddenly acquired a status of most sort after job not among the average but also above average students because of spurt increase in demand of this professional in India as well as in developed countries like Canada, Australia etc. This spurt increases in demand has been result of the infrastructural activities-making of bridges,u multi flour roads, subways and metros etc.- to be taken not only on the earth but also in the air and under and across the water bodies of the world.
The welder is the professional on whose skills and efficiency the whole project’s life depends. He is the one who is responsible to link one bond to another to give the infrastructural unit a durable everlasting strength. So to do this work one has to be really skilful in his work. While it is possible to acquire the basic skills needed to become a welder in a short period of time while working in association with some experienced welder. But to work at such a high level one need to undergo extensive training in the finer points of the craft to succeed as a professional.

Educational Qualification.
Though no specific Educational qualification is required to be a welder but to work in an effective manner one should at least be a Matriculate or Senior Secondary Pass out. However, higher the qualification of the Welder wider will be the scope for him to get the work in the various reputed public and private organization not only here in India but also overseas.
Age
Minimum age to work in the organized sector is 18 years and Maximum age is from 25 to 40 years depending upon the organization one is applying.

One can become a welder by even acquiring basic knowledge of Welding techniques by being an assistant to an experienced welder. But there is little growth of such welder in the long run. Besides welder of this level cannot get good opportunities in the future because of their limited knowledge and depth of the subject matter they are dealing in. To grow in this Profession the aspiring candidates should first complete basis though not essential qualification i.e. Matriculation and if it is with 60% marks then the gates of virtually every institution providing certificate course are wide open for you to be a certified welder and that too with a lot of opportunities to climb the ladder afterwards.

After getting this diploma one can apply against the vacancies lying vacant in various private or public sector organisations. One can also start his own business on small scale. Governments of many countries provide financial aids for such initiators on subsidized loans.
Note: If one is seeking to build his career in some overseas country then he should be apt in English language and must be able to clear the IELTS exam with specified bands.

A certified Welder can get up to Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 per month to start with and with little experience and knowledge can get anywhere near Rs.15,000 to Rs.25,000 per month. And if one is capable to get a job in some overseas countries then he can earn as high as Rs.3,00,000 per month and that is still not the limit for the dedicated professionals. But all this depends upon one’s own ability and capacity to do work.
