Navsari Agricultural University (NAU) is a Public University which was established as a College of Agriculture in 1965. Before being accredited as a public University, Navsari Agricultural University was a part of the Gujarat Agricultural University. On May 1st 2004, the College was converted into a separate Agricultural University. It is spread on a sprawling farm land of 400 hectares. NAU with it’s headquarter at Navsari caters to 6 districts of the state viz. Navsari, Bharuch, Narmada, Surat, Dangs and Valsad. Navsari Agricultural University offers various courses at graduate, post-graduate and PhD levels. The University also offers vocational courses in horticulture at Navsari, home science at Vyara, agriculture at Waghai and Bharuch as well as Livestock Management, Bakery and Mali and extension education trainings at Navsari. The university specially caters to the needs of the farmers of the plantation crops in the heartland of Gujarat; the Kanam zone of cotton, sorghum and pigeon pea and hill millets of tribal belt. NAU has initiated single window- delivery system through Agricultural Technology Information Centre (ATIC).

Facilities
Class room and Conference hall - These are well equipped with LCD, Interactive board, Overhead-projector, computer and Plasma TV. The system of teaching-learning is backed by audio-visual teaching aids designed specially to cater to the specific needs of the students.
Hostels - The University is fully residential. The Hostel rooms for the IABM students are well furnished, spacious and with computer facilities. There is provision for indoor and outdoor games and recreational facilities. The University has commissioned 2 new Girls Hostels (for 90 girl students) and 1 new PG Hostel (for 65 Post graduate students). Another girl hostel is under construction.
Library - The University Library has a highly specialized collection of more than 3.5 Lakhs documents in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Husbandry, Home Science, Fisheries, Basic Sciences, Humanities, Technology and allied subjects. The collection includes Books, Theses, Periodicals, Reprints, Maps etc. The collection grows at an average rate of 300 periodicals per year. Public catalogue of the library holdings is available in card form and on OPAC (On Line Access Catalogue) using LIBSYS software package.
Krushi Vigyan Kendras - The University has 3 Vigyan Kendras located at Waghai, Vyara and Navsari. It also has 1 Sardar Smruti Kendra at Navsari and a Training and Visit Scheme.
Zonal Research Stations - The University has 2 Zonal Research Stations. They are Navsari Zonal Research Station and Bharuch Zonal Research Station.
Crop Based Research Stations - The University has 3 main crop based research station. These are based on cotton, sorghum and mango.
Regional Research Stations - The University also has 3 Regional Research Stations based at Waghai, Vyara and Gandevi.
Sports and Cultural Activities - The University has its own Gymnasium for indoor games. Facilities for sports such as football, hockey, cricket, badminton, table tennis, basketball, kho-kho, kabbadi, etc. are also available. Various cultural programmes are organized besides the entertainment and sports activities. Air-conditioned Auditorium with seating capacity of more than 600 and an Open Air Theater is also there on the campus, which is used frequently when audience is fairly large.
Verification / Testing Centres - The University has 6 Verification / Testing Centres.
Alumni Association - The Association aims to provide an opportunity to the existing and the past students to have an exchange of their acquaintances among one another and have an enhancement of reciprocal educational and socio-cultural advantages. The Alumni Association of the University had active participation on the occasion of the Annual Social Gathering.
