B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering)
Bachelor of Techonology in Electrical Engineering
| Duration: | 4 Years |
| Level: | 10+2 |
| Type: | Degree |
| Eligibility: | 10+2 or Equivalent |
B.Tech. Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering is an undergraduate Electrical Engineering course. Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialization of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications. Electrical engineering may include electronic engineering. Electrical engineering is considered to deal with the problems associated with large-scale electrical systems such as power transmission and motor control, whereas electronic engineering deals with the study of small-scale electronic systems including computers and integrated circuits. The course duration is four years and it provides many job opportunities in the very field. In today’s time mostly colleges are conducting classes in this steam.
B.Tech. Electrical Engineering Eligibility
- For B.Tech. (Electrical Engineering) the minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate (10+2) with subjects such as physics, math and chemistry.

B.Tech. Electrical Engineering Course Suitability
- Candidates who have a sharp, analytical and practical mind and attention to details, able to grasp and adapt to new and changing concepts and good communication skills are the most suitable one for it.
- Second, those who have qualities like organizing and solving problems, to work under pressure and have the ability to keep calm during crisis and have dedication and commitment towards the profession also are capable of going for this course.
- Third, who possess an understanding of his area of concentration, broad grasp of engineering in general, to have detailed knowledge of electrical networks, electrical energy converters also are good suit for it.
How is B.Tech. Electrical Engineering Course Beneficial?
- Today there are many industries which are running solely due to the involvement of qualified and experienced electrical engineers.
- There are industries manufacturing heavy electrical items like motors, transformers, pumps, cables, and even steel which are always very much in need of qualified electrical engineers.
- The scope for these engineers is also wide open in the industries manufacturing locomotive and auto electrical equipment.
- There is another very innovative option that today more and more electrical engineers are engaging themselves into. It is a simple idea of becoming self-employed.
- Many electrical engineers today are opting to have their own electrical workshops and shops rather than going for tedious and monotonous routine factory jobs.
- Having a shop can act as a double source of income for these smart electrical engineers. Along with the selling of the electrical fittings and appliances, they can milk a fat income through some prompt after sales service.
- Many industries like to outsource their job works. Electrical engineers with their own workshops can take orders from these companies and earn handsome packages.
