D.N.B. General Surgery or Diplomate of the National Board in General Surgery is a postgraduate Surgery course. General surgery is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal contents including the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile ducts, and often the thyroid gland. This course includes specialization such as Child Health Obstetrics & Gynecology Anesthesiology Clinical Pathology Dermatology Otorhinolaryngology Orthopedics Ophthalmology Medical Radio Diagnosis Medical Radiotherapy Psychological Medicine. The course is career orienting and job providing in nature that opens many jobs after its successful completion.

D.N.B. General Surgery Eligibility

  • Any medical graduate with M.B.B.S. qualification, who have completed an internship and is registered with MCI/ State Medical Council (Age limit up to 50 years) can register with the Accredited Institutions for 3 years of training/part-time (minimum 20 hrs per week in 3 years)
  • Foreign medical graduates who have passed the screening test conducted by NBE and are registered permanently or provisionally with MCI/State Medical Council.
  • In service candidates from Defence, Central/State Government, Railways, Public sector institutions also are eligible for it.
