M.D.S. Oral Medicine or Master of Dental Surgery in Oral Medicine is a post graduate Dentistry course. Oral Medicine deals with the study, diagnosis and Medical management of Oral and Oro-facial diseases. It emphasizes the concept of systemic diseases in role of oral sepsis and oral manifestations of systemic diseases with an objective of maintaining proper oral health for general health. Oral diagnosis is the art of identifying the diseases, defects dysfunction deformities by scientific methods. Radiology is included in this specialty and it is the study of radiation and its uses in taking radiographs for oral and or facial diseases. The interpretation of these radiographs helps in proper diagnosis. The course is career orienting in nature that provides many jobs in different fields.
