M.E. (Hydraulics Engineering)
Master of Engineering in Hydraulics Engineering

Email

Duration:2 Years
Level:Post Graduation
Type:Degree
Eligibility:Graduation

M.E. Hydraulics Engineering or Master of Engineering in Hydraulics Engineering is a two year post graduate Civil Engineering course. Hydraulic engineering as a sub-discipline of civil engineering is concerned with the flow and conveyance of fluids, principally water and sewage. Course helps to develop scientific and technological knowledge, to prepare students for engineering activities (design, running and maintenance) of structures and grids used for the collection, the treatment, the storage and the distribution of water. The program emphasizes the following focus areas: Experimental and numerical methods, constitutive modeling, physical modeling, numerical modeling and structural engineering, water treatment and resource.

M.E. Hydraulics Engineering Eligibility

  • B.E./ B.Tech.  or equivalent with minimum 55% marks.
  • Some reputed colleges and institutes do conduct entrance examination to get admission to their M.E. degree course.

M.E. Hydraulics Engineering College

M.E. Hydraulics Engineering Course Suitability

  • Applicants willing to have a thorough knowledge of  hydraulics along with mechanical such as introduction to maintenance tools, lifting tackles, measuring tools, torque wrench, fasteners, gaskets, sealants, oil seals & O’ring, bearings, couplings, ‘V’ belts, gears, pulleys, brakes, clutches, filters and lubricants are suitable for it.
  • The should have a critical thinking such as using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • They must have a complex problem solving mind and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

How is M.E. Hydraulics Engineering Course Beneficial?

  • It is beneficial to plan and manage the flow and storage of water. You may find yourself brainstorming solutions to address future water demands for cities or planning river and costal flood control projects.
  • Course is also beneficial for further studies such as M.Phill., Ph.D. etc.
  • Candidates can find employment opportunities in various industries, including manufacturing and distribution, water conservation, engineering design or engineering consulting.
  • Course is suitable to design and functionality of bridges, dams, levees and canals. Keep reading to learn more about this engineering discipline.
