M.Phil. Geology or Master of Philosophy in Geology is a postgraduate Geology course. Geology is the science that comprises the study of the solid Earth and the processes by which it is shaped and changed. During the course, candidates are introduced to plate tectonics, the history of life and evolution, commercially important mineral and hydrocarbon, the remediation of environmental problems and past climates. The students of geology at this level study the composition, structure, physical properties and history of the planet we live on. The duration of the course is two years and the syllabus is divided into two semesters as well. There are many colleges or institutes which are offering the course on their campuses in the country.

  • Candidates should have passed Master's Degree in Geology with a minimum of Second Class securing at least 55% of the aggregate marks or in an examination recognized as equivalent.
