ME Earthquake Engineering or Master of Engineering in Earthquake Engineering is a Post-Graduate Environmental Engineering course. Earthquake engineering is the scientific field concerned with protecting society, the natural, and the man-made environment from earthquakes by limiting the seismic risk to socio-economically acceptable levels.
During the Master of Engineering course in Earthquake Engineering, various aspects are to be undertaken such as the theory and practice of plane surveying, horizontal and vertical control, design of circular and parabolic curves, tachometry, construction surveys, and earthwork quantities are covered. Fieldwork presents the practical applications of course material with the use of transits, tapes, levels, electronic distance measuring devices, and theodolites. The duration of the Earthquake Engineering course is two years and the syllabus is divided into four semesters. In today’s time, the importance of the Master of Engineering course in Earthquake Engineering is immensely increased due to the occurrence of natural disasters. It is also a job-oriented course.
