M.Tech Environmental Geomatics or Master of Technology in Environmental Geomatics is a two-year Post-Graduate Environmental Engineering programme. Environmental and Geomatics Engineering (CEGE) is a collective field of engineering dealing with infrastructures, the environment, and spatial information.

The Master of Technology programme in Environmental Geomatics aims to provide knowledge in spatial analysis for environmental applications. The Master of Technology course in Environmental Geomatics includes studies in geographical information systems (GIS), remote sensing and physical geography. The Master of Technology course in Environmental Geomatics deals with a variety of problems common to all development and resource exploitation plans.

M.Tech Environmental Geomatics Eligibility

  • The aspiring students should have passed a BE / B.Tech degree in a relevant subject or equivalent qualification from any recognized University.
  • The candidates should have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks at their Graduation level.
  • Some of the very reputed universities and institutes conduct an entrance examination for admission.

M.Tech Environmental Geomatics Course Suitability

  • The Master of Technology course in Environmental Geomatics is suitable for those who have the capacity of doing such hard work as construction, property, cartography, offshore engineering and exploration and geographic information systems.
  • Applicants who can handle the data like that of a collection, interpretation/analysis and presentation of the natural, social and economic geography of the natural and built environments can go for it.

How is the M.Tech Environmental Geomatics Course Beneficial?

  • The Master of Technology course in Environmental Geomatics is beneficial as it increases the knowledge of the students when they use data from a range of sources, such as aerial photography, satellite surveys and laser beam measuring systems; using computer-aided design (CAD) and other IT software to interpret data and present information.
  • They can also work in national or local bodies involved in cartography, land registries and collection of land data, in the aerospace industry and that of information technology applied to the management of territorial databases, logistics, planning, etc.
  • On the other side, graduates with a deeper knowledge of Environmental Engineering can also find opportunities in the field of international relations, large multinational corporations and non-governmental organizations.
