ME Optical Communication or Master of Engineering in Optical Communication is a Post-Graduate Information Technology Management program. Optical engineering is a branch of science that focuses on optical applications. The Optical Communication program consists of five core optical engineering courses, four optional courses, a thesis project, and a rigorous oral exam.

The Master of Engineering in Optical Communication program trains students to apply mathematical and scientific concepts to the design, development, and operation of optical systems, lasers, and related electronic equipment. Wave theory and mechanics, electromagnetic applications, linear and nonlinear optics, photon detection, laser beam qualities, directed energy, harmonic production, optical systems, shielding, and the design and implementation of associated systems and equipment are all covered.

ME Optical Communication Eligibility

  • Aspiring students must have passed their Graduation such as a BE / B.Tech degree or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's.
  • Some very reputed universities and colleges conduct entrance examinations for admission.

ME Optical Communication Course Suitability

  • The Optical Communication course is appropriate for students who want to create and build systems that utilize light to perform useful things. They must learn and use the science of optics in great depth in order to grasp what is physically feasible to do (physics and chemistry).
  • Those who want to refresh their knowledge in this field, students/engineers who want to pursue research or study for a Ph.D. degree, as well as first-year students who want to improve their training, are ideal candidates.
  • Those who desire to get a thorough grasp of the present and developing mobile communication systems, with a focus on the common elements, are also eligible.

How is the ME Optical Communication Course Beneficial?

  • They may conduct eye exams to check a patient's vision, prescribe eyeglasses and contact lenses, and provide vision therapy and low-vision rehabilitation after completing the Master of Engineering course in Optical Communication.
  • They also run equipment that performs tasks like polishing edges, hardening, and altering lens diameters.
  • Candidates can create their own eye clinic, optical store, lens production facility, or other independent practice.
