MTech Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems or Master of Technology in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is a Post-Graduate Information Technology Management course. A geographic information system (GIS) is a computer-based tool for mapping and analysing Earth's feature events. GIS technology combines typical database functions with maps, such as query and statistical analysis. GIS organises location-based data and provides tools for displaying and analysing statistics such as demographic characteristics, economic development potential, and vegetation kinds. GIS allows you to create dynamic presentations by linking datasets and maps.

It also includes capabilities for visualising, querying, and overlaying databases in ways that ordinary spreadsheets cannot. The art and science of measuring the planet using sensors on aircraft or satellites are known as remote sensing. These sensors capture data in the form of pictures and offer specific tools for altering, analysing, and displaying those images. A GIS incorporates remote sensing images. The goal is to give solid scientific training in methodologies for studying the Earth as well as creating and analysing data with GIS.

MTech Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems Eligibility

  • The students should have passed a Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University.
  • The candidates should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks or equivalent in their Bachelor's.
  • Some reputed colleges and universities conduct an entrance examination for admission.
